BCCI to keep Pakistan away from Maharashtra in 2016 World T20 due to threat of Shiv Sena threat. Pakistan will travel to India to participate in world T20 in March but BCCI (Board of control for cricket in India) is trying to keep them away from Maharashtra and Nagpur because of security condition, threat from Shiv Sena and terrorism by extremist organization active in India.
None other than Shiv Sena is again playing a villain role in Pakistan and India cricket matches, whom the BCCI thinks that they will create panic and they think Shiv Sena will cause law and order will disturb by them in state due to Pakistan playing a match in Maharashtra and Nagpur grounds.
Eight cricket stadiums in India will host the Bigger event of shortest cricket format, VCA (Vidarbha Cricket Association) and MCA (Maharashtra Cricket Association) both are situated in Maharashtra. The other venues are Kolkata, Dharamsala, Banglore, Chennai, Mohali and Delhi.
Top BCCI official explained to Indian Express “BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur spoke to government bodies in Maharashtra and they have advised us to not have any Pakistan games as political parties might create some protest and there could be law and order situation in the state,”
Both countries are traditional rivals so their political situation is usually out of the track so their direct impact on Cricket the most common game on the both side of borders. So
He added “We don’t know what the situation will be between both countries by next year but we don’t want to take any risk.”
Shiv Sena is the huge problem for Indian government, that organization is not in control by India so they create big problem when Pakistani team likely to visit India. They have previously track record against Pakistan is more stronger where they opposed Pakistani athletes, participation in Hockey and Kabaddi last year just because the respective leagues were held in Maharashtra.
BJP member Thakur is also the Member of Parliament and he belongs from ruling party in centre and state, so the BCCI are trying to play safe tour for Pakistan, will not set any match for Pakistan in Maharashtra and Nagpur.
ICC did not announce any group for world Twenty20 but the most likely is India, Pakistan and West Indies will be in the same group. It means that Pakistan will face India in Chennai or Mohali according to The Indian Express.
BCCI official also said that “We will ensure that such a draw is been made that Pakistan team will not have to play any games in two venues in (Wankhede and VCA) Maharashtra. As the final will be held at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, there will be no problem in Bengal,”
